Kaya's First Concert

Every parent knows that feeling. The one you get when you realize that the tiny infant who once depended on you for everything is growing and maturing faster than you care for them to. That's how I felt last night. Kaya had her first performance at the California Institute of Arts. It was nice to see my tomboy all clean and girly. And amazing to realize that she can play a violin in front of hundreds of people. Where did the baby go? I was really proud, though, and am looking forward to attending many more concerts in the future. The strings section was by far the best. Their pieces more difficult and the sound much lighter than, oh, i don't know, the percussion section. Whew! I didn't know if I was at a spring concert or a funeral. All the kids did great and all the parents were teary eyed and proud.

What a grown-up little lady. I am truly impressed. Way to go Kaya.
Glad to see some new pics.
