May your days be Merry...

Yeah, right. Anyone who's ever attempted to string lights on a Christmas tree knows that "merry" goes right out of the window. However, after hours of cursing, crying, tantrum throwing and, finally, acceptance that the tree had conquered my spirit, I was done. And it's a beautiful tree. The picture doesn't really do it much justice as it washed out several of the ornaments. Once the lights were done and I had calmed down, Kaya and I enjoyed just silently working together, hanging ornaments and tinsel, and perfecting all of the twists in the ribbon. Even Mom pitched in and helped with some garland and hanging stars. In the end, any difficulty was deemed worthwhile because the end result of all of that work just boosted the holiday spirit at home. Merry Christmas!
