What I'm thankful for: love; Kaya (even though she regularly adds to my gray hair collection!); health, physical, mental, emotional; mom, sometimes annoying but always supportive; family, friends and laughter; precious phone calls from Iraq; every individual who makes being a single parent just a little bit easier, simply by being generous with their time.
Hopefully, everyone had a great Thanksgiving holiday, full of turkey and relaxation. The kid and I got to enjoy spending time with many friends and enjoyed lots of great food (all food that I don't have to prepare myself is great!.) It was nice to have time off from work and just hang out. Amy must tell me the secret to making pie crusts. She sent us home with a slab of pie that took Kaya and I less than a day to finish off. So much for watching the goodie intake :) But, one taste and I couldn't help myself. I think that the day was a great kick-off to the holiday season and, for the first time in a long time, I'm really looking forward to all of the celebrations and parties and just plain spending time with people I like.
