On your very first birthday you were a
Teeny weenie baby, so sweet but quite smelly
Sparkling blue eyes, cute dimple, Buddha belly

Celebrating the first anniversary of your birthday
Towers of gifts, stacked over your head
You were so grouchy and only wanted your bed

For birthday number two
My baby girl Kaya had a slight, little flu
Went to Chuck E. Cheese so that she wouldn’t be blue

Third birthday, I haven’t a clue
About what we did or what we gave you

Your fourth birthday is quite unforgettable
Cupcakes with roses, a cake of your own
Princess was the theme and balloons surrounded your throne

On your fifth birthday, there were no family or friends
Just landed in Germany, but you still had some fun
Cake, goodies and gifts made you shine like the sun

Birthday number six, Dear Lord, what a mess
A giant princess blowout, and only three guests
Rhinestone tiara and a pretty summer dress

Celebrating seven years, quiet and simple
Charming tea party brought out that sweet dimple
You got some books and seemed less than thrilled

Back home in the states for birthday eight
Very low key, only two friends
But a new Razor scooter was really fun in the end

A campout in the living room for birthday number nine
A sea of balloons covered the floor
You girls stayed up late and ate until you couldn’t eat anymore

And now, a double digit midget, a whole ten years old
A decade has passed since you made your grand entrance
